The German Advance

When the panzers drove to the Channel, the continent was divided. Then German forces conquered both halves. In the north Denmark fell in 12 hours, and Norway was taken after Denmark. When France was divided, the split country could do nothing to save itself.

Dunkirk

Dunkirk was the first large battle of WWII. The defeat across Europe, made possible by the Wermacht's drive to the Channel, caused the BEF to retreat to Dunkirk. The RAF fought bravely and most BEF troops were evacuated to Britain.

The Battle of Britain

The Battle of Britain was a great aviation feat/battle. RAF Spitfires and Hurricanes and Luftwaffe ME-109s and ME-110s. Britain fought bravely, and in the end won. If they hadn't won, Sea Lion would have activated, starting the German invasion of England.

Operation Barbossa

Eventually, the Third Reich had to attack Russia. The Luftwaffe quickly gained air supremeacy over the floundering VVS. Stalin had no choice but to join Churchhill, and, later on, President Roosevelt. The German war machine only stalled during the freezing and muddy winter.

Liberation of Norway

During the liberation of Norway, Allied troops had to win air supremeacy and establish a Naval fleet in the North Sea. Also, to add to the difficulty, the Allies would have to invade and fight on and in ice, snow, and blizzards. Somehow though, they pulled it off and Norway was back to the Allies.
